Reader's Diary (Week 8)

The animal spirits of man, when they are struck by nettles or by blows of the whip, are pushed forward toward genitals ... these impressions quickly enter the brain, where they paint lively images of forbidden joys and bewitch the understanding through their deceptive simulations.
